Medieval Heraldic Stud Mount

Medieval copper alloy heraldic stud mount, probably of 13th or 14th
century date. The mount is shield shaped and is approx 17mm long..
and 15mm wide. The shield contains three lions. The recessed areas.
surrounding the lions would have held enamel of which there still ...
may be traces of. At the rear of the mount is the integral rivet or....
stud. There are suggestions that these small shield shaped mounts...
with studs/rivet pins, may have been attached to an iron stirrup as..
parralleled on an example recovered from Oxfordshire...................

Charles I (1625 - 1649) Rose Farthing

Rose farthings are made of copper, with a brass plug in the coin
to deter forgers. On many of these coins in a poor condition the
plug falls out and often leaves an unsightly gap. The obverse of
the coin has a crown with sceptres. The reverse a crowned rose,
hence the name Rose farthing....................................................
